John and Mary Keller’s Son William Franklin Keller and land…

Wm. Franklin Keller played an important part in the distribution of the lands of his parents John and Mary Keller.

I did not find a probate/estate file for Wm. F. Keller, there was some mention of Ida C. Keller in the probate index but I have not found the document.  Family Search has probates online but it means you have to browse and that can take bit of time.

Here is a list of deeds from the Morrow County Deed Indexes for both Grantor and Grantee.  Some of these deeds have been featured in past posts on this blog.  Others have been featured on my other blogs like the Barclay’s of Pine River which you can access by going to the right side of this blog and finding the link.  Some deeds I copied when I was researching the father John Keller years ago, other I did not.

Deeds involving Wm. Franklin Keller and wife Ida.

In the post below, I shared several deeds that Henry the brother was involved with regarding family. Remember that Henry and Wm. Franklin Keller remained on the land in South Bloomfield.

John and Mary Keller’s son Henry Keller: Buying and Selling Land,” December 10, 2014.

1.  4 November 1882 is the deed between W. F. Keller and John Lacy. I featured this deed in the posts about Harriett Ellen Keller Lacy.   It involved 20 acres of land.  This is part of the partition of the lands of John and Mary Keller.

John and Mary Delano Keller’s Children: Harriett Keller Lacy,” December 15, 2014.

There are more posts featuring Harriett and John Lacy, just use the search box on the right to locate them.

2. 14 December 1883 26 March, 1884: Grantor Charles P. Grove et. al. sold 63 acres of land to W. F. Keller and Ida.  I refer you to the post titled: John & Mary Keller Descendants: Lavina & William Helt’s Children,” July 17, 2014.  This deed is how I figured out the Grove family connection. Mary Elizabeth Helt the oldest daughter of Lavina and William Helt married a Charles Olen Groves.

This deed is very important because it features my great grandparents George A. Barclay and Amarilla Barclay as heirs to John and Mary Keller’s land. Henry Spracklin is Amarilla’s older brother. I shared this on the blog: The Barclay’s of Pine River, “Partition Deed: Morrow County, Ohio 1884,” October 8, 2011.  Here is the transcription again:

4. 4 September 1884, Grantor John W. Helt sells 63 acres to W.F. Keller, no copy made.

See the blog post titled: John & Mary Keller Descendants: Lavina & William Helt’s Children,” July 17, 2014.  John is a son of Lavina Keller and William Helt.

5.  30 November 1885, Grantor Andrew J. Keller sells 63 acres to W.F. Keller

See blog post: “Peter and Eliza Keller’s child: Andrew J. Keller,” May 12, 2014.

Here is what I wrote about this deed:

In 1885 Andrew J. Keller sold land to his uncle W. F. Keller and aunt Martha. It was 63 acres in So. Bloomfield, Morrow Co., Ohio.  The deed was done on 30 November 1885, Vol. 43, pg. 57 FHL#388692, pg. 186.  I did not make a copy of this from the Morrow County Deeds, my focus at the time I did the deed research was on his grandfather John Keller.

6.  5 October 1889 Grantor H.S. Helt sells 63 acres to W.F. Keller, copy not made.

This is Henry Solomon Helt another son of Lavina and Wm. Helt. A copy of the deed would probably clear it all up.  Go to this post for more information: John & Mary Keller Descendants: Lavina & William Helt’s Children,” July 17, 2014.

7. 28 Dec. 1889 Grantor Mattie Helt sells 63 acres to W. F. Keller, no copy made.

This is another Helt descendant but which one and a copy of the deed might clarify that relationship? See the post for John & Mary Keller Descendants: Lavina & William Helt’s Children,” July 17, 2014.

8. 20 February 1892 Grantor Henry Keller sells 20 acres of land to W. F. Keller. Grantor W.F. Keller, et. al., Vol. 46, pg. 461). No copy made.  This deed might reveal some very interesting names from the et. al.

In reviewing the deed index for Morrow County I find the name Keller might be misspelled to Keeler.  So I might have missed some deeds.  I have copies of the deed index from Morrow County in both the typed version and the handwriting.  I think it is time for a quick review. When I post about the father John Keller’s land, I will again review the deeds for the family in a table format.

John Keller passed on 4 May 1880 and Mary Delano Keller passed on 3 August 1882, so the family waited till both parents were gone and that is why the whole process took from 1880 to 1884.  After that time the grandchildren started getting involved selling of the land back to Henry and Wm. Franklin Keller.

=====================================================

A cousin has kindly shared information about the Pearl family so in the next posts I will present this information.  Lavina and Wm. G. Helt’s daughter Eliza Jane Helt married George Pearl and they had several children and many descendants and ancestors.

See the post for John & Mary Keller Descendants: Lavina & William Helt’s Children,” July 17, 2014.
