Alfred and Susan had the following children, the first three have not been confirmed as children of Alfred and Susan who married in 1866. Susan states that she had eight children born but only four were living by 1900.  I only have seven listed below.

–Willie Spracklin probably after 1866 but before 1868.  He does not appear in the 1870 census as written above. Do not confuse this child with a son of Reed and Julia Spracklin who died in Calhoun Co., Iowa.

–Lawrence Spracklin – sometime between 1866 and 1868.

–Florence Spracklin – sometime between 1866 and 1868

–Ora McDonald Spracklin was born 18 January 1869 in Shelby Co., Illinois. He married to a Sara Spidel.  She was born 4 February, 1869. They had Vawhorn, David, Charles, James F., Emerson and Lucile.

Ora died on 14 February, 1940 and Sara died 16 June, 1934 in Shelby Co. They are buried in the Neil Cemetery in Shelby Co., Illinois. Find A Grave has memorials for them.

–Mary Nellie Lillian Spracklin was born 21 April 1875 in Cowden and married on 15 December, 1893 in Shelby Co., Illinois to a Charles Wagner.  They had: Grace, Dorothy, Cecil, and Mackie.  Lillian died 20 August, 1937 and is buried in the Neil Cemetery in Shelby Co., Illinois.

–Orpha Delta Spracklin was born about 1878.  I believe she is the Orpha in the census for 1880. She married on 20 March, 1898 to a Watson Sayers in Shelby Co., Illinois. They had Jerry and Marie. Delta died about 1957 and she is buried in Mound Cemetery in Cowden, Shelby Co., Illinois.

–John Alfred Spracklin was born 6 February, 1881 in Hillsboro, Montgomery Co., Illinois. He married Dona May Valentine on 26 September, 1900 in Shelby Co.. They had Waunita. John died 17 November, 1948 and Dona passed about 1962. They are buried in Mound Cemetery in Shelby Co. Illinois. Find A Grave has memorials for both of them, with links and tombstone photos.

Alfred W. Spracklen died on 3 December, 1931 and Susan died 22 November, 1928.  They are both buried in the Mound Cemetery in Cowden, Shelby Co., Illinois.  Find A Grave has memorials for them with many links, photos of the tombstones and more.

Alfred received a Military tombstone through the tombstone applications.  It looks like it was shipped by the American Legion in September of 1932.

The family of Alfred needs further research and his children need to be further studied, census done on them and other vitals to confirm the information.
