Enos Seward and Sarah Goss, their children: Mary Seward and her two husbands…

Mary Seward was born 12 July 1785 in Granville, Massachusetts to Enos & Sarah (Goss) Seward.

Source: Massachusetts, Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988. She was entered as Marah Seward. This is from the actual records. There is also a published version.

Mary Seward first married to George Goodwin.  She remarried to a Daniel Ashcraft on 29 November 1825 in Coshocton Co., Ohio. The marriage did not work out.

Mary migrated to Ohio. Coshocton County right next door to Knox County, a county I know well from my research on the Spracklins, Kellers and more. You can see Mt. Vernon to the left.

A Mary Goodwin appears, as head, in the 1820 U.S. Federal Census in Pike, Coshocton, Ohio. This was enumerated on August 7, 1820.

We skip to the 1850 U.S. Federal Census where Mary Goodwin reappears at age 65 born about 1785 in Perry, Coshocton, Ohio.  There is a James Goodwin above her in the census.

In the 1860 U.S. Census Mary Goodwin is now 75 years old. She is living in Perry, Coshocton, Ohio.  There is a James Goodwin family above her.

Mary Seward and George Goodwin had these children: Elijah Goodwin 1811-1872 married Jemimah Hall 1813-1903 and migrated to Lapeer Co., Michigan (I have other family on my mom’s side who went to Lapeer); James Goodwin 1813 to 1879 married Catherine McKee; Sarah Goodwin 1814-1895 married Daniel Jones and migrated to Kansas; and John Goodwin 1816-1892 married Noty Morris 1837-1880 and then remarried to Elizabeth Templeton (Stalcup) 1828-1924, John migrated to Illinois.

George Goodwin was born 1785 and died 1816. According to Find A Grave he is buried in the Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan Co., Indiana. Mary Ashcraft died 20 Sep 1875 and is buried in the Center Ridge Cemetery as well. Daniel B. Ashcraft her 2nd husband was born 1761 and died about 1846 in Coshocton, Ohio. He is buried in the Broomstick Cemetery in Coshocton per Find A Grave. Daniel was married before to a Elizabeth Ann Schuman and had about 9 children.  I do not believe Mary had any children with him. I am not sure that the above information is correct and feel I am missing pieces, so please proceed with caution.
